How To Get Involved

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in coastal rowing, including building, maintaining and rowing coastal rowing boats, or chatting about them, or simply being around people who do the same!!

We don’t have access to a club building, yet. You can see we are close though! We are grateful to have had use of the shed at the rear of the Harbour Masters Office on Harbour Row. Having launched our first skiff Breagha on 29th May 2021, and our second skiff, Ninian, we welcome everyone to row, maintain and chat with us. When our skiffs are out come to find us. Otherwise keep an eye on the Events information on our website or check our Facebook page to see what’s going on. We are a busy club, with beach cleans, races, challenges, and maintenance so please get involved.

How to Join In Rowing

Launch times are weather and tide dependent. Check our facebook page (Wigtown Bay Coastal Rowing Club) and this website calendar for launch details.

Anyone can come along to the Isle of Whithorn and try out coastal rowing. We ask that you complete a temporary membership form before or at your first visit.

Open sessions are for anyone to come along and row for fun. Club members will organise the open session, cox and row the skiff for fun in and around the Isle of Whithorn Bay. We will be looking out for wildlife, having a laugh, and practising good safe technique. There will always be someone coordinating on shore.

Training or team sessions are routinely booked in advance; come along and watch the launch and retrieval. Sessions can be booked by members. Training sessions are run by club chairman John, and rowing Captain Becki. These sessions can be booked onto by members and they are run in Ninian. Email wigtownbaycoastalrowing@gmail.com for more info.
