We held our first regatta at the Isle of Whithorn with glorious weather and loads of fantastic volunteers and support. Safety boat provision on Saturday 24th July was by Newton Stewart Sub Aqua Club, Chris and Glyn, and on Sunday 25th July, Darren in his own rib. Saturday was the main race day, with a long race from Garlieston to the Isle of Whithorn. Sprint races on Saturday included Over 60s Mixed; Over 50’s Mixed; Over 40’s Mixed; Over 60’s Men and Over 60’s Women. Sunday sprint races were Over 50’s Men; Over 50s Women; Over 40’s Men; Over 40’s Women; Under 40’s Mixed and Under 19 Mixed. Teams from Annan, Stranraer, Hippo and WBCRC took part.

So many others from the The Whithorn Trust, Whithorn Rebuild, our Blood Bikes, Coastguard, PIRSAC, Isle of Whithorn, Wigtown Bay CRC, Isle Futures, Isle of Whithorn Community Council all mucked in together to create a fantastic family event focussed on our stunning Bay and coastline.
